Kyaikhtisaung Monastery, Mon State Burma
The grounds of Kyaikhtisaung Monastery around the main stupa. This monastery is the steward of several mountain top hair relic stupas in surrounding area. This stupa was built to encase a relic of the Buddha's hair that he left in this spot. After reaching elightenment, the Buddha traveled to what is now Burma, leaving relics of his hair at this spot and six other spots. The stupas are said to contain the hair relics.
